ALUVIAL
Convento Viejo Aluvial is a terroir-driven wine that looks to faithfully reflect its origin. The wine is made with selected grapes from small blocks in our Santa Rosa vineyard, planted more than 20 years ago on soils of alluvial origin.
Santa Rosa has alluvial soils, due to its proximity to the Maule River, with a large quantity of rounded rocks intermingled with clay horizons, combination that creates unique wines with a velvet structure in pallate and fresh aromas.
We work our vines lovingly, harvesting small batches no larger than 8,000 kilos per hectare in order to maintain a higher concentration of color and structure.
Barrel-aging is used in the production of Convento Viejo, Aluvial, without affecting the wines’ fruit notes, and the results are both fresh and complex.
